I was invited to experience the coffee at Page Common a new coffee house at the Page8 hotel near Trafalgar Square, opposite the National Portrait Gallery.
The space is modern with clean lines, lots of wood and sleek seating options. It’s inviting and open with a vibe that lingering for an hour or so would be encouraged. There is a whole host of curated independent magazines, travel guides as well as lifestyle books that you can dip into whilst sipping your hand drip coffee or expertly poured latte. The menu is small but has crowd pleasing options, like Salmon and Avocado Toast, which I had and it was generous and well seasoned, or the Figs & Cheese Toast. The bread and baked goods are supplied by Paul Rhodes Bakery in Greenwich.
My hand drip coffee was crafted with care by the barista. Kiss The Hippo beans (from Panama & Columbia) made a deliciously light, fruity cup of coffee which I very much enjoyed. I don’t normally drink black coffee but this was very light, fruity with no bitterness and reddish in colour, almost tea-like really.
I had a quick tour of some rooms that Page8 offer, bright and light with views of London’s streets below. The sleek thoughtful styling continues in blue and white with hints of bronze, providing all the amenities you would expect as well as their own brand coffee.
If you are ever in the area, look out for Page8, it’s easy to miss but you’ll feel like you are stepping into a secret calm oasis that also serves really good coffee.
