The Zebra Riding Club | Lunch & An Explore

The Zebra Riding Club, is based within the grounds of Birch (a membership community that gives you access to a stunning space to meet, relax - there's a lido! and stay plus a whole lot more.)

At the Zebra Riding Club anyone can book lunch or dinner and experience Robin Gills set menus, the Sunday offering, is based on a simple sharing concept. A selection of starter dishes arrive for the table, including the freshly baked Sourdough, and new that day a Polenta Sweetcorn dish - which my guest and I, both agreed was the absolute star - bursting with flavour and has Polenta ever tasted so good?

You then choose your main, I, the pork crackling with apple sauce - which had very good crackling. My guest the wood fired trout and a bowl of seasonal vegetables and new potatoes arrive to accompany them. Dessert was just one option, meringue, with fruits and a lemon Chantilly cream. Which was actually perfect after the generous portions of the previous courses.

The space is within an airy barn, I loved the green walls, the mismatched china and the impeccable friendly service. The kitchen is partially open so you can watch the chefs prepping and wood firing your food. There's a pretty and well stocked bar if you fancy a cocktail or two.

Set in Herts, it's just 30 minutes outside London and well worth a visit and if we lived closer I would definitely consider the membership if only for a dip in the wonderful looking lido.

We were invited for lunch but all thoughts and comments my own. Thank you very much for having us.
